Considering that the logo of our English academy is an adaptation of the London tube logo, we thought that it would be a great idea to include this theme in our lesson planning.
Teaching about British culture, our culture, is one of the cornerstones of our approach to teaching English as a foreign language. Truly understanding a language also means understanding how its native speakers live and think. This has always been a strong point for our school and has helped us stand out from our competition. Moreover, to be honest, we are proud of our heritage so we feel excited about sharing it with others. It piques the curiosity of our students and serves as a motivational tool to capture their attention.
I have this cute group of 9-10 year olds who frequently ask questions about my life, my city and what not (typical kids, right?) So i came up with this project idea about London. We were learning about the future with going to and that could pair well with planning a trip for instance. So as the project developed in my head, I started creating different games, vocabulary worksheets, a role play for them to act out, a writing task… so, yes! It turned out to be a comprehensive project that worked really well with them! Some of my students had recently travelled to London, so that made it even better!
Here is a peek into how it went:

I’m sure your kids will love it, not to mention the time it will be saving you!
Enjoy it!
